The Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust (LDST) serves schools/academies within the Diocesan boundaries which incorporate the local authority areas of Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and parts of Warrington, Wigan, Halton and Lancashire. There are more than 33,000 primary and secondary pupils in 119 schools across the Diocese.
As of October 2020, there are currently 16 schools in LDST, soon to be joined by a 17th. Our aim is to have approximately 25 schools by 2022, with the remaining Church of England schools converting some time thereafter. There are currently 100 Church of England schools eligible to convert to academy status across the Diocese.
A Christian culture of collaboration is at the heart of the Trust. Our schools have a strong Christian commitment to each other so that individual schools and the family of schools grow and improve through working together in a strong school to school network.
The core values of LDST are:
We embrace the benefits of self-determination to empower our strongest leaders and teachers to drive excellence. LDST will encourage and promote the most effective established local collaboration and networks, as well as develop new ones.
We thank you, God of Love, for the gift of children,
bless the work of our Trust, that in all we do
young people may grow in wisdom and stature,
and so come
to know you,
to love you
and to serve you,
as Jesus did.
We make our prayer in his name who is God
with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever.
